2005 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Lagrein Freienfeld, Alto Adige, Italy

Fairly mature nose, dried and marinated plums, dark berries, dark chocolate and herbaceous notes. Cool, polished style, preserved and stewed prunes on the palate, preserved berries, notes of undergrwoth and mushrooms, some dark chocolate and licorice, integrated fine-grained tannins, quite full-bodied but also elegant, delicate maturation notes, slightly astringent on a good long finish.
