2006 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Cabernet Riserva Kirchhügel, Alto Adige, Italy

Dusty and slightly muted nose, old oak, preserved berries, light herbaceous and vegetal notes. Both full-bodied and gentle on the palate, light hint of bell peppers, densely structured but not obtrusive preserved cassis and mixed berry fruit, some carob, cardamom and cloves, integrated, slightly dusty fine-grained tannins, full-bodied, typical of the variety and clearly shows its origins, still needs time to develop, dark chocolate, slightly astringent on a long finish.
