The "Schreckbichl - Cantina Colterenzio winery" is located in the municipality of Appiano South-Tirol (Alto Adige) in the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige, It was in 1960 in the form of a wine cooperative founded by 28 winegrowers from the small hamlet of Schreckbichl (Italian: Colterenzio). In 1979 the was followed by a study trip California returned Luis Rafer appointed as managing director. This led to new quality standards with reduced earnings on the pilot vineyard with the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc. Today 300 winegrowers cultivate a total of 300 hectares of vineyards according to the guidelines. Hubert Dorfmann is the managing director and Martin Lemayer the cellar master.

A quality group was founded in the 1980s and now has 65 members. The premium wines of the Schreckbichl winery are made from the grapes of this group obtained according to strict guidelines. New methods are applied in the group and the knowledge gained is then extended to all members. That was for example in the area plant protection with new ones sustainable Methods the case.

The white wines Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ), Pinot Grigio ( Pinot gris ) Müller-Thurgau, Moscato Giallo ( Goldmuskateller ) Sauvignon Blanc. Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Lagrein. , Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon cultivated and processed. The broad product range consists of the four Classic lines ( varietal, fruity white and red wines, including the DOC wines Kalterersee and St. Magdalener ), Selections (selected vineyards, low yields), Lafóa (red wine and white wine from the historic pilot vineyard from the 1980s) and LR (white wine cuvée from Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer named after Luis Rafer).

The ripe and healthy grapes obtained by selective hand picking are delivered to the grape receiving point, which was completed in 2010, and passed on using the force of gravity. All red wine grapes are destalked, squeezed and into the Maischegärtanks filled. The white wine grapes are partly de-stemmed or just squeezed and into the ones below Press promoted. Depending on the grape variety come for fermentation and the expansion of the wines stainless steel containers, Concrete barrels and wooden barrels are used. Premium wines include Chardonnay Lafóa, Cabernet Sauvignon Lafóa and Pinot Noir Riserva St. Daniel.
