Firm nose, ripe blackcurrants and some dried tomatoes, hint of tobacco and some iodine, light peppery notes and juniper. Ripe, firm, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, light smoky oak, hint of tobacco, full-bodied, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, noticeable warm alcohol, touch of dark chocolate and coffee, some juniper, very good finish, becomes more juicy with aeration.

Editor note: Clear nose, black berries and a few cherries, light nutty oak, hint of tobacco. Tart dark fruit on the palate, light spicy oak, dark chocolate, integrated sandy tannins, medium body, some persistence, hint of tobacco and ashes, spicy traces, salty traces, more dark chocolate and some coffee on a good to very good finish.
