2016 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Merlot-Cabernet "Cornelius", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm nose, ripe blackcurrants and some dried tomatoes, hint of tobacco and some iodine, light peppery notes and juniper. Ripe, firm, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, light smoky oak, hint of tobacco, full-bodied, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, noticeable warm alcohol, touch of dark chocolate and coffee, some juniper, very good finish, becomes more juicy with aeration.
