2000 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Chardonnay Rarität, Alto Adige, Italy

Firm, nutty, yeasty and slightly smoky, also buttery aroma of ripe citrus fruits and pomaceous fruit with buttery notes, a hint of sultanas, mussels, some coffee and caramel. Firm, ripe, juicy fruit, smoky, buttery and somewhat roasted flavours, yeasty and vegetal notes, persistent and powerful on the palate, yeasty tones, very fine acidity and grip, raisiny notes again, some caramel and candied-nutty wood tones, has melting, but also a fine acid bite, good depth, light minerality, warm and cool elements, very slightly oxidative tones, very good, melting and spicy finish with red berry nuances, hints of chanterelles and a fine bite.
