2004 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Terlan Pinot Bianco Rarität, Alto Adige, Italy

Elegant, very firm, deep, polished nose, delicate nutty and yeasty notes, peaches and nectarines, integrated pomaceous fruit, mussel shells, earthy and mineral traces. Mature, but also firm, concentrated fruit on the palate, prominent yeasty and nutty notes, hint of tobacco, mussel shells and some brown butter, white pepper, herbaceous and salty notes, very elegant acidity, persistent, complex and deep, tranquil, still appears quite youthful, very good, long finish. Should be decanted, and preferably should still mature for a while. Possibly the best Pinot Blanc we have ever tasted.
