The estate is located in the commune of Rüdesheim in the German wine-growing region Rheingau, In memory of the mystic and abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) was founded in 1900 Benedictine Abbey St. Hildegard was founded above the municipality of Eibingen near Rüdesheim, which has also been running a winery since then. The nuns also run a book and art shop, spelled sales, and various art workshops. “Hildegard-WeinWalks” are also organized by the vineyards. Arnulf Steinheimer is responsible as master winemaker in collaboration with sister Thekla Baumgart. The vineyards cover 7.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of Bischofsberg, Drachenstein, Klosterberg, Klosterlay, Kirchenpfad and Magdalenenkreuz (Rüdesheim), Mönchspfad (Geisenheim) and Hinterkirch (Assmanshausen). You are with Riesling (83%) and Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) planted. The average yield is 65 hl / ha. Environmentally friendly viticulture is practiced. The white wines are in stainless steel, the red wines in wooden barrels. It will also altar wine (which is obtained from parishes from all over Germany) and Secco (Sparkling wine) produced.
