2012 Barolo DOCG Riserva Bricco Rocca, Riund, Piedmont, Italy

Tart, earthy, undergrowthy and slightly dried-mushroomy aroma of ripe red and a little black berries with iodine, earthy tones and a hint of tobacco. Tart in the mouth, again rather red fruit with nutty, dried-floral and slightly spicy tones, a little cocoa, very present, somewhat drying-sandy tannin, certain power and persistence, a little coffee in the background, good to very good, only also very slightly brittle finish
