2001 D.O.Ca Rioja Reserva Viña Ardanza Especial, La Rioja, Spain

Fairly mature nose, prominent tobacco notes, light earthy notes and some oak, partly dried red and black berries and some plummy notes, cedar and some mineral notes. Tart and quite firm on the palate, initially rather closed, oak and tobacco notes, earthy and salty mineral notes, fairly prominent cedar, slightly tart spicy notes, persistent, fine dandy tannins, good depth, very good finish. Needs aeration.

Best to drink: Bis 2016+. What our ratings mean
