2005 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Riserva Barbagòl, Alto Adige, Italy

Preserved sour cherries and black berries on the nose, light smoky and roasted notes, smoked meat. Quite juicy, polished, slightly smooth fruit on the palate, fairly jammy black berries and cherries, some more roasted and smoky oak, quite fine tannins, still youthful, fairly creamy and has some depth, still young, juicy on the finish wish roasted, spicy oak.

Best to drink: Bis 2014+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Partly preserved black berries and sour cherries on the nose, smoky and roasted notes. Straightforward style, elegant and juicy dark fruit on the palate, more prominent roasted oak, medium-fine and slightly astringent tannins, fairly persistent, medium body, slightly creamy and has some depth, very good, long, juicy finish with light oak.
