2016 Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC Les Charretons, Rhône, France

Firm, slightly spicy tobacco, prominent black and red berries, herbaceous aromas of Provence, black olives, a touch of balsamic and pepper. Firm, rather dark, ripe fruit with licorice notes, pepper, herbs and again balsamic, fairly hot, persistent and quite full-bodied, prominent, fine-sandy, slightly astringent tannins, earthy and leathery notes, still undeveloped, slightly nutty-woody, hinted Cocoa, good finish, slightly astringent.
