2007 Neusiedlersee trocken Hill 1, Burgenland, Austria

Fairly concentrated nose, prominent spicy oak, hint of bacon, preserved black berries, roasted notes and chocolate, light herbaceous and mineral traces. Fairly juicy, concentrated fruit on the palate, but also lots of toasted spicy oak, smoky notes and chocolate, herbaceous notes, full-bodied and very creamy, fairly fine youthful tannins, very good persistence and depth, light acid bite, juicy on a very good finish, with some more spicy oak.

Best to drink: 2013-2020+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Tart nose, black berries and preserved sour cherries, prominent vegetal as well as earthy and mineral notes. Rather juicy dark fruit on the palate, earthy notes, sooty oak, vegetal notes, medium-fine, slightly sandy tannins, very full-bodied, good persistence, very firm, still undeveloped, good depth, very good finish.
