Slightly sharp nose, animal notes, light volatile and lactic notes, partly preserved and dried black berries, oak, mustard seed and horseradish, earthy notes, coffee, tar and tobacco. Tart black fruit on the palate, prominent smoky, lightly toasted oak, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, earthy and dried vegetal notes, hint of mustard seed, shows more depth and becomes more juicy with aeration, some bitter sooty oak on a good to very good, but still slightly astringent finish.
