2015 Blaufränkisch trocken Terroir, Burgenland, Austria

Tart, firm nose, earthy notes, hint of tobacco, black berries, some undergrowth, delicate hint of mushrooms, light animal notes. Tart dark fruit on the palate, light oak, hint of tobacco, fairly fine, very slightly astringent tannins, medium body and persistence, earthy and peppery traces, cedary traces and a hint of bacon, floral notes, very good finish. Is becoming more brittle with age.

Editor note: Light spicy oak and a hint of tobacco on the nose, black berries, earthy, dried vegetal and light animal notes. Ripe, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, dark, sooty, spik, some chocolate, hint of tobacco, prominent ripe and slightly sandy tannins, full body, noticeable warm alcohol,, some licorice, prominent cloves, persistent, some depth, very good warm, slightly jammy finish.

Editor note: Light vegetal and herbaceous notes on the nose, some dried mushrooms, ripe, partly preserved black berries, prominent cloves, peppery traces. Ripe, juicy, fairly polished fruit on the palate, more prominent cloves and pepper, fine, sandy, ripe tannins, light bite, hint of dried flowers, persistent and grippy, some depth, touch of sugar candy, has both cool and warm elements, ripe fruit and prominent spicy aromas on a very good finish.
