The winery is located in the municipality of San Giovanni al Natisone (Udine province) in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia
, The large family business was founded in 1964 by Dorino Livon through the purchase of the first vineyards. In the 1980s, the sons Dorino Valneo and Tonino entered the factory. In the meantime, there are five wineries, the vineyards cover a total of 226 hectares of vineyards. Of these, the vineyards in the trunk make up 85 hectares. These are the white varieties Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Verduzzo Friulano, Moscato Giallo, Picolit Bianco, Malvasia Istriana, Traminer Aromatico (Gewuerztraminer), Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blanc, Muller Thurgau (Müller-Thurgau), and the red wines Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso, Schioppettino, Pignolo, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc planted. The wines are produced in three lines. The Classica line is being expanded in steel. The grapes for the top lines Cru and Gran Cru come from the best locations. These wines are aged in steel and oak barrels. The product range includes wines DOC Collio
and IGT Venezia Giulia. Every year around 600,000 bottles of wine are produced.
The other four wineries are RoncAlto with 8 ha in the DOC area Collio
and Villa Chiòpris with 96 ha in the DOC area Friuli Grave
(Friuli), and Borgo Salcetino with 18 ha in the DOCG area Chianti Classico
(Tuscany) and ColSanto with 19 ha in the DOCG area Montefalco Sagrantino
(Umbria). In total, over 500,000 bottles of wine are produced here.
