The winegrowing area in the extreme northwest Hungary
on the border to Austria
is named after the city of the same name (German: Ödenburg). It is one of the oldest in Hungary, because already the Celts
operated here viticulture. The climate with a rather cool and rainy summer and a sunny autumn is positively influenced by the nearby Lake Neusiedl.
