The winery is located in the municipality of Oggau in the Leithaberg DAC region of Burgenland (Austria). It has been in the family since 1632. Son-in-law Christian Händler and his nephew Tobias Siess manage the vineyards and cellar. Rafaela, his wife, runs the office. Son-in-law Matthias Siess and his son Sebastian are responsible for sales and marketing. His wife Maria runs the estate inn "Zum Herztröpferl". The vineyards cover 33 hectares of vines in the Altenberg, Haide, Isel, Marienthal, Neugebirge, Pratsche, Satz Zeisl and Steinhut vineyards. 75% of the vineyards are planted with the red wine varieties Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, St. Laur ent, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot, and 25% with the white wine varieties Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Bl anc.

Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practised. Quality criteria in the vineyard are short pruning and thinning out to reduce yields. The aim is to produce wines that are typical of the variety, region and vintage. The wines are vinified in the three lines Classic (stainless steel, bottled young), Premium (wooden barrel, classic) and the top line Große Lagen (aged in barrique). Top wines are Blaufränkisch Marienthal, Tempelhüter (Zweigelt), as well as the red wine cuvée Furioso (Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot). In years with suitable weather conditions, noble sweet wines (Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese) are also pressed. Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Fine brandies (wine, cherry) and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced.

The MAD winery and the imperial town of Bad Ischl are dedicated to His Majesty Emperor Franz Josef I (1830-1916). Two wines were created in honour of the former ruler, namely a red wine (Blaufränkisch, Merlot, Zweigelt) and a white wine (Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay), which are marketed especially in Bad Ischl. The sponsorship has been taken over by "Kaiser" Franz Klammer (Austrian ski racer and 1976 Olympic downhill champion). A portion of the proceeds from each bottle of wine sold supports the "Franz Klammer Foundation". The money benefits athletes who are dependent on help due to their injuries and disabilities.
