2013 Barolo DOCG La Serra, Piedmont, Italy

Deep, fairly complex nose, light ethereal notes, nutty notes and undergrowth, partly preserved strawberries, some licorice and tobacco, dried floral, earthy and mineral notes. Clear, tart, juicy, fairly cool fruit on the palate, nutty notes, some undergrowth, peppery traces, herbs and tobacco, very good persistence, light acid bite, fine sandy tannins, good grip, salty notes in the background, hint of mushrooms, becomes more juicy and gains finesse with aeration, elegant style, still very slightly astringent, touch of violets and carnations on a very good tart, cool, juicy finish.
