The “Martin und Christine Nigl” winery is located in the commune of Senftenberg in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Kremstal, The former domain of Starhemberg as Lesehof serving building below the ruins of Senftenberg, the core of which dates from the 12th century, was restored and rebuilt and moved into a new home in 2004. In addition to the winery, this also includes a hotel and a restaurant. The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vineyards, which are widely spread in the Dornleiten, Gärtling, Freiheit, Hochäcker, Kremsleiten and Piri are located. They are 90% with the white wine varieties Green Valtellina (40%), Riesling (40%), Sauvignon Blanc, Yellow muscatel and Chardonnay, the remaining 10% with Zweigelt planted.
The vineyards are managed in a natural, environmentally friendly manner according to the rules of the Integrated crop protection, The strictly selective harvest is carried out by hand in several rounds and lasts up to one and a half months. The white wines are in stainless steel tanks and partly in expanded. The top wines are marketed under the "Private" line. The best wines are the Rieslings and Grüner Veltliner from the Riede Piri.
