2004 Côtes du Rhone AOC Bout d'Zan, Rhône, France

Preserved and marinated red and black berries on the nose, cherries, some animal notes, spicy tobacco. Very full-bodied, juicy, ripe, slightly warm fruit on the palate, touch of chocolate and licorice, mature tannins, very creamy, noticeable alcohol, fairly persistent, good finish.

Editor note: Sloe berries, sour cherries and blackcurrants on the nose, smoked bacon and light vegetal notes. Fairly juicy fruit, cool tart notes, dusty, astringent tannins with good presence, chocolate notes on the palate, full-bodied, noticeable high alcohol, good presence, polished and quite substantial, still young, good finish.
