2002 Colli di Conegliano DOC Vigneto Montesco, Veneto, Italy

Fairly mature nose, preserved mixed berries and some sour cherries, prominent candied herbs, smoky notes, spicy oak. Firm and juicy on the palate, ripe fruit, light acid bite, fairly prominent but well-integrated tannins, oaky with some chocolate, very full-bodied, noticeable alcohol, slightly spirity, more candied herbs as well as some fresh notes, very persistent, good to very good finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2013+. What our ratings mean

Editor note: Fairly mature nose, preserved and partly candied black berries, sweetish, candied dried herbs, smoky, cedary wood. Dark, juicy fruit, candied again, sweetish roasted and slightly smoky oak, fairly prominent fine tannins, light acid bite, noticeable alcohol, good persistence, not particularly deep, very good finish.
