2014 Barbaresco DOCG Quarantadue 42, Piedmont, Italy

Some tobacco, delicate oak and earthy nose, ripe, partly preserved red and some black berries, touch of black olives and oregano, some licorice, dried meat and iodine. Tart, fairly concentrated fruit on the palate, fairly dark fruit, lots of licorice and some vegetal notes, cola nut, cocoa and some roasted notes, fine sandy, youthful tannins, warm alcohol, persistent, slightly sweetish and creamy, very good finish with bitter notes -zedrigen tones.

Best to drink: 2018-2023+. What our ratings mean
