2001 D.O. Ribera del Duero Gran Reserva, Castilla y León, Spain

Translate to English Entwickelter, aber fester, holzwürziger, tabakiger, leicht zedriger und einen Hauch animalischer Duft nach reifen schwarzen Beeren mit getrocknet-fleischigen, ledrigen, malzigen und gewürzigen Noten. Saftige, sehr reife, teils angetrocknet wirkende Frucht, feines Tannin und etwas Biss, schokoladige und etwas röstige Holzaromen, ein Hauch Malz und Lakritz, mürbes, aber noch immer relativ präsentes Tannin, nachhaltig und kräftig, im Hintergrund Salz, hat noch immer frische Anteile, sehr guter, fast langer, fester, herb-saftiger und würziger Abgang mit Trockenkräuternoten. In erstaunlicher Verfassung.

Editor note: Fairly mature spicy nose, soup greens, some cedar wood, partly dried mixed berries, prominent earthy and mineral notes. Full-bodied, concentrated and very creamy on the palate, some chocolate and nougar, fruity as well as earthy and vegetal notes, some chestnuts, mature tannins, good persistence and depth, hint of rum punch, very good finish.
