2000 Barolo DOCG Vigneto Gattera, Piedmont, Italy

Partly dried red and some black berries, salty mineral notes, tobacco and tart herbaceous notes, light smoky notes. Firmly structured, with fairly cool, dark fruit on the palate, tart spicy oak, some licorice and a hint of dark chocolate, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, mineral notes, some more herbaceous notes, becomes more juicy with lengthy aeration, medium depth, very good finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2016+. What our ratings mean
