2005 Barolo DOCG Rocche dell'Annunziata, Piedmont, Italy

Editor note: Restrained, shy nose, cool but very deep, preserved and partly dried red berries, light plummy notes, mint, delicate spicy oak, dried flowers in the background, mineral traces. Very firm on the palate, compact and not yet approachable, ripe fruit and prominent mineral notes, some roasted, spicy oak in the background, fairly prominent, firm still very youthful astringent tannins, very persistent, excellent depth, prominent bite, very long finish. Definitely still needs time to mature.
