2005 Langhe DOC L'Insieme, Piedmont, Italy

Deep, quite dark and complex nose, preserved red and black berries, partly candied cherries, dried flowers, herbs and spices, tobacco and prominent mineral notes. Full-bodied and firm on the palate, still quite undeveloped, dark, relatively cool fruit, integrated oak, fairly prominent, only slightly sandy and astringent tannins, persistent, good depth, prominent salty mineral notes, still youthful and very firm, tart with roasted notes and spicy oak on an excellent finish.
