2006 Barbera d'Alba DOC Cascina Nuova, Piedmont, Italy

Editor note: Cool nose, plums and red berries, herbaceous and mineral notes, light touch of old oak. Clear and juicy on the palate, quite light-bodied, quite a polished style, light acid bite, almost salty mineral notes, quite cool, very fine-grained, still slightly prominent tannins, cedary notes, good persistence, has some depth, appears very young, still slightly astringent on an otherwise attractive finish.
