2014 Barolo DOCG Gattera, Piedmont, Italy

Firm, quite slightly open, lively aroma, partly preserved red and black berries, touch of lemon zest, pomegranate, rose flowers, prominent herbs and a hint of pepper. some licorice, cocoa and mineral nuances. Ripe, partly preserved, partly fresh-looking, juicy fruit, nutty and chocolatey notes, a hint of coffee, licorice and some soy, light bitter, spicy and herbaceous on the palate, some bite and a lot of ripe tannins, persistent, good depth, has grip, Pepper and salt in the background, has play, quite complex, firmer, beguiling juicy and fine spicy finish, again with amazing freshness.
