2004 Gigondas AOC Confidentiel, Rhône, France

Preserved mixed berries and cherries on the nose, herbaceous and earthy notes, light animal notes. Juicy and full-bodied on the palate, slightly tart, prominent acid bite, earthy and prominent mineral notes, persistent, fairly prominent fine tannins, very slightly astringent, very firm, good depth, hint of tobacco, very good finish. Much better than the first sample tasted two years ago.
