Editor note: Light nutty and partly dried vegetal notes on the nose, restrained yellow fruit, floral traces, earthy and mineral traces. Clear, tranquil, tart fruit on the palate, nutty and delicate floral aromas, elegant acidity, fairly persistent, earthy and mineral notes, hint of bacon, good finish.
Best to drink: To 2019

Germany, or the area that belongs to it today, has a wine culture that is over two thousand years old. The white grape variety is a new breed between(Silvaner x Riesling) x Müller-Thurgau, which was confirmed by DNA analyses published in 2012. Incidentally, the Grando variety also originated from the same parents. The variety was named after the Greek wine god Bacchus. Synonyms are Bacchus Weiß, Frühe Scheurebe, Geilweilerhof 33-29-133 and GF. 33-29-133. 1933 the crossbreed was made by the breeders Peter Morio (1887-1960) and Bernhard Husfeld (1900-1970) at the Institute for Grapevine Breeding Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen-Pfalz....

The white grape variety is a new breed between Riesling x Bukettrebe. Synonyms are Alzey S. 88, Dr. Wagnerrebe, Scheu 88, S-88, Scheu Riesling and as second main name (in Austria) Sämling 88. It was created in 1916 by the German breeder Justus Georg Scheu (1879-1949) at the Landesanstalt für Rebenzüchtung in Alzey (Rheinhessen). The bouquet vine was not identified until DNA analyses carried out in 2012, in which the silvaner indicated as the father variety was found to be false. Experts can also be wrong. In 1935, Scheu had claimed in a lecture that the bouquet grapevine had not proved to be a suitable crossing...
