1997 Beaujolais-Villages AOC Cuvée Speciale, Beaujolais, France

Lively, appealing nose with ripe, partly dried red berries, dried flowers and some green tea, with a hint of milk chocolate. Elegant and juicy, ripe and rounded on the palate, at the same time quite firmly structured, light acid bite, boticeable but very fine tannins, very good persistence, some more green tea, a hint of lime, harmonious, very good finish. In surprisingly good condition, but really should be drunk now.

Editor note: Mature nose with some caramelised berries, a hint of malt and some Chinese tea, with delicate notes of dried flowers. Still quite firm and compact on the palate, shows elegant berry and tea notes as well as some substance, charming and even a little playful, just a hint of sweetness, good finish.
