2010 Barbaresco DOCG Sori' Paitin, Piedmont, Italy

Firm, tart, dried vegetal to tobacco and slightly old-wood scent with subtle notes of berries and delicate animal and earthy tones. Tart and somewhat woody in the mouth, fairly slender, polished fruit, slightly roasted notes, very slightly reminiscent of roasted pork rind, present, very fine, yet slightly drying tannins, good persistence, coffee notes, fairly firm structure, still quite young, mineral tones in the background, very good, if still slightly drying finish. Still needs some time.
