1995 Cornas AOC Domaine de Saint-Pierre, Rhône, France

Black berries and cherries on the nose, pepper, some smoke and a light touch of provencale herbs and eucalyptus. Quite juicy, more black berries and pepper, fairly prominent, fine sandy tannins, full-bodied and creamy on the palate, provencale herbs, persistent with good depth, very harmonious, in excellent shape, juicy and spicy notes on a long finish. Significantly better than a bottle tasted in spring.

Editor note: Firm cherry and berry nose with prominent notes of black pepper, dried provencale herbs and some eucalyptus. Dry and spicy in the mouth, more pepper, also rosemary and oregano, fruit pushed to the background, slightly rough tannins, could do with a little more substance and depth, attractive finish.
