2016 Barbaresco DOCG "Castellizzano", Piedmont, Italy

Firm nose, ripe red and a few black berries, some plums, dried floral aromas, light herbaceous notes, hint of tar, tobacco and pepper. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit on the palate, spicy oak and some cocoa, hint of tobacco and peppery traces, fine, youthful, ripe tannins, light acid bite, good substance and persistence, still undeveloped, hint of licorice and some peaty traces, some more peppery notes, quite grippy, very good, ripe, partly preserved juicy, spicy fruit on the finish.
