The estate is located in the municipality Hohenwarth in the southwest of the Lower Austrian wine region Weinviertel, It is run by Petra and Leopold Hofbauer-Schmidt in the sixth generation of the family. Guestrooms are connected. The vineyards cover 14 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards mountain, Böndl, Hintaus, Hochstraß, Kögl, fief, Mühlweg, Rennweg, Satzgraben and Waidenthal. They are planted with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Pinot Blanc, Roter Veltliner, Riesling and Grüner Sylvaner, as well as with the red varieties Zweigelt and Blauburger. It is consistently natural, environmentally friendly viticulture after Guidelines with for example use of predatory mites practiced in pest control. In the period from the end of October to the beginning of June, the soil is not cultivated in order not to disturb the vineyard flora and fauna and to prevent humus degradation and erosion. The selective vintage is done exclusively by hand. To exploit the principle of gravity, the press house was created in three floors. By the short ways and the rapid clean processing can on any sulphurize the mash and the must are omitted.

When expanding the wines, care is taken to highlight the subtle differences between the individual grape varieties, locations and vintages. The premium wines include various (Grüner Veltliner), Roter Veltliner Old Vine, Pinot Blanc Ried Satzgraben and Riesling Old vines, as well as the red wine cuvées "Imposing Hohenwarther Freiheit" and "Reserve" (both from the varieties Blauburger and Zweigelt). Its regular customers include numerous fine-dining establishments, wine shops and many long-standing private customers from all over Austria and Germany. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine and brandies are also produced. Wine, music and culinary events are regularly organized at the Winzerhof, with the net proceeds of the culinary offerings being used for charitable purposes such as "Licht ins Dunkel". The winery is a member of the vintners' association Weingüter Weinviertel.
