The estate is located in the municipality of Worms-Pfeddersheim (Wonnegau area) in the German wine-growing region Rheinhessen, It was founded by Wolfgang Pannebecker in 1960 and taken over by Holker and Margit Pfannebecker in 1979. The company became known as the "Burgunderhof". Today it is managed by Holker and son Max Pfannebecker, since the 2004 vintage Max has been responsible for wine growing and marketing. The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vineyards in the individual vineyards of Hochberg and Sankt Georgenberg (Pfeddersheim), Katzenbuckel and Nonnenheim (Mörstadt), and Am heiligen Häuschen (Wies-Oppenheim). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Goldmuskateller, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, St. Laurent and Cabernet Sauvignon.

From 2007 onwards, the changeover to ecological Viticulture started, since the 2010 vintage has been certified Organic viticulture practiced. The grapes are pressed gently and with the vineyard's own yeast fermented spontaneously, The expansion takes place depending on the type of wine in steel tanks or traditional oak barrels, where they spend months on the tires. The wines are marketed in the Gutsweine, Ortsweine and Lagenweine lines. The estate wines go on sale in the spring after the harvest. The local and site wines mature for one year (white wines) and two years (red wines). The premium wines include St. Georgen Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir, as well as the red wine cuvée Maximus. Sparkling wines with traditional bottle fermentation and secco (sparkling wine) are also produced. The winery is a member of Message in a bottle,
