2001 San Colombano al Lambro DOC, Lombardy, Italy

Still fairly xlosed nose, notes of new oak, some tar, light vegetal and mineral notes and cranberries. Medium-bodied with almost juicy, slightly sweet-sour red berry fruit, shows some substance as well as structure, oak still noticeable, but already quite well integrated, and supportive, light notes of dark chocolate and coffee, moderate acidity and ripe tannins that are still a little dusty and prominent, attractive long finish.
