The winery is located in the municipality of Boca (province of Novara) in the middle of the Monte Fenera Nature Park near the two lakes Maggiore and Orta in the Italian region of Piedmont. It was founded in 1980 by the married couple Guido and Cristiana Sertorio. Many other plants such as roses, hydrangeas, mimosa, fruit trees and almond trees give the vineyard the character of a garden. Today, the farm is run by Anna Sertorio and her husband Andrea Marzo. Luca Faccenda is the oenologist and Matteo Baldin is responsible for the cellar. The vineyards cover three hectares and are planted with the red wine varieties Nebbiolo (70%), Vespolina and Bonarda Novarese (Uva Rara). Since 2011, organic viticulture has been practised without the use of herbicides and insecticides; since 2014, the vineyards have been cultivated according to the certified rules of ICEA. The yield is limited to a maximum of 40 hl/ha, although the permitted quantity would be much higher.
The product range includes DOC red wines Boca and Colline Novaresi. The red wine DOC Boca "Vigna Cristiana" matures in large oak barrels for 36 months and at least 12 months in the bottle after the 9 to 12-day maceration and removal of the lees. The red wine DOC Colline Novaresi Nebbiolo "Bio Gratus" (85% Nebbiolo, 15% Vespolina) matures after the 7 to 9-day maceration and removal of the sediment for 12 months in large oak barrels. Every year, 12,000 bottles of wine are produced, half of which is exported to Great Britain, Finland, Denmark and Belgium, as well as to the USA.
