2015 Barbaresco DOCG "Serracapelli", Piedmont, Italy

Slightly underwoody nose, partly dried red and some black berries, some tobacco and earthy notes, hint of licorice, mushrooms and bacon. Fairly tart fruit on the palate, hint of pepper and some licorice, fine sandy tannins, light acid bite, good substance and persistence, ethereal nuances in the background, dark, slightly roasted oak, hint of cocoa and citrus, very good, firm finish rather dark juice, slightly brittle tannin and again a little cocoa and pepper.
