2007 Barolo DOCG Serre®, Piedmont, Italy

Mature earthy nose, some wilted flowers, nutty and light tarry notes, partly dried and preserved red berries, hint of coffee and dried mushrooms. Ripe, fairly juicy fruit on the palate, some cocoa and spicy cardamom, fine sandy tannins, light salty notes, dried floral traces, hint of bacon and cocoa in the background, buttery traces, medium body and persistence, slightly astringent, slightly rustic style, some black olives and oregano, good to very good warm finish.
