The estate is located in the municipality of Camporeale (Province of Palermo) in the Italian region Sicily, It is owned by Marco Sferlazzo. The vineyards cover ten hectares of vineyards planted with Catarratto Bianco (white wine) and Nero d´Avola (red wine). They were planted between 1974 and 1985 and are oriented to the north in order to protect the vines from being over-aligned with the sun and thus from damage. The name (Eng. "Gate of the wind") indicates the winds that blow quite strongly here. The temperature fluctuations between day and night are considerable. It becomes organically certified viticulture with no synthetic materials and fertilization operated with inorganic substances. For the control of pests and diseases only products based on copper and sulfur used.

Through wild greening biodiversity is promoted. The yields are limited to a maximum of 3,000 kilograms per hectare. The manual, selective harvest takes place in lots depending on the level of ripeness and acidity with around 4,000 kg per round. The grapes harvested in cassettes are immediately brought to the wine cellar. The fermentation the red wines and also the white wines are made in open oak vats in contact with the berry skins for two weeks at room temperature, without adding sulfur and yeast. Depending on the type of wine, it is aged in steel tanks or in large oak barrels. On a filtration is waived in order from terroir to get embossed wines.
