2013 Mitterberg IGT Quirein, Alto Adige, Italy

Firm nose, ripe black berries and a few cherries, nutty, spicy oak, some licorice, dried herbs, pepper, graphite and dried dark flowers. Tart, fairly cool, elegant, juicy dark fruit on the palate, some toasted oak and dark chocolate, fine sandy tannins, delicate acid bite, good persistence, compact structure, hint of pomegranate, salty mineral traces, herbs and dried flowers, hint of stining nettle, some depth, very good firm, juicy finish.
