2002 Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Fairly mature nose, partly dried red beries and a hint of cherries, herbaeous notes, earthy and mineral nots, some wilted leaves. Clear and tart on the palate, also slightly juicy, harmoniously matured fruit, light acid bite, tyspical stimulating tannins, not particularly deep, but clearly shows its origins, is in surprisingly good condition, mineral notes and a prominent bite on a good finish.

Editor note: Cool nose, leafy notes with wilted flowers, hints of leather, and red berry preserves. Clean fruit, elegant and juicy, again a fairly cool style, with minty notes, fine, slightly dusty tannins with good presence, integrated acidity, not a lot of substance, attractive finish.
