2004 Barolo DOCG Bussia, Piedmont, Italy

Firm, fairly deep, somewhat developed nose, ripe black and red berries with dried herbaceous aromas, some juniper and dried tomato notes, tobacco and some smoky, woody spice. Ripe, again firm, juicy fruit with smoky and tobacco wood notes, certain acid bite, present, ripe tannin, persistent and dense on the palate, peppery and juniper tones, increasingly salty, has power, backbone and depth, slightly roasted spice, relatively compact structure, capers in the background, some blood and soya sauce, very good, firm, juicy and spicy finish with slightly bitter, tarry wood notes.

Full-bodied, concentrated and juicy on the palate, fairly cool fruit, chocolate and light roasted notes, delicate acid bite, fairly prominent, quite fine and also gripping tannins, quite lot of cool, salty mineral notes, herbaceous traces, excellent depth and persistence, complex, not yet full developed, light oak on a long finish.
