2004 Barolo DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Partly dried and preserved red berries and plums on the nose, light spicy oak, smoky notes, mineral and herbaceous notes. Tart, partly dried red and black fruit on the palate, very light hint of oak and chocolate, some more dried herbs and a hint of blood oranges in the background, light mineral traces, slightly rustic style, fairly persistent, but not particularly deep, full-bodied, fairly prominent and slightly astringent tannins, noticeable alcohol, good finish.
