2005 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Nizza DOC Costamiòle, Piedmont, Italy

Editor note: Mature nose with some medicinal herbs, dried dark berries, licorice and mallow. Quite herbaceous again on the palate, delicate tart notes, straightforward fruit, dark berries, hint of dark chocolate and some pimento, persistent with light mineral notes, fairly prominent, firm, slightly dusty tannins, has backbone and substance, clearly shows its origins, very good finish.
