2006 Barbaresco DOCG, Piedmont, Italy

Fairly restrained fruit on the nose, light vegetal notes and some soup greens, forest floor, wilted leaves, mineral traces. Initially tart on the palate, much more earthy than fruity, more wilted leaves, light salty notes, light acid bite, smoky and roasted notes, develops noticeably more fruit with aeration, fairly prominent tannins, fairly lively and persistent, good to very good finish.
