2013 Beira Interior DOC Vinhas Velhas, Reserva, Beiras, Portugal

Tart nose with cherries and black berries, dried vegetal notes and tobacco, earthy notes and a touch of juniper. Polished, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, nutty and slightly bitter chocolate notes, some tobacco and earthy notes, some roasted notes, fairly fine, but also slightly astringent tannins, medium body, fairly creamy, light bite, some pomegranate in the background, salty notes , still young, a bit deep, very good finish, albeit slightly astringent.
