2017 Chianti Classico DOCG "Tenuta Sant' Alfonso", Tuscany, Italy

Herbal, earthy and slightly tobacco, also somewhat woody scent, partly preserved, mostly dark berries with a little juniper and forest floor. Strong in the mouth, partly preserved and dried dark fruit with tart spicy oak, fairly prominent, slightly astringent tannins, spicy on the palate, warm and alcoholic, cocoa and a little coffee grounds in the background, slightly rustic style, certain depth, good to very good, warm finish with a certain bitterness.
