2009 Barbera d'Alba DOC Superiore Rocche delle Rocche, Piedmont, Italy

Clear, cool, tart nose, cherries and some dark berries, delicate hint of old oak, light mineral notes. Full-bodied and creamy on the palate, very ripe, partly preserved fruit, delicately spicy old oak and licorice, light mineral notes in the background, predominantly mature tannins, good persistence and has some depth, very good finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2015+. What our ratings mean
